What happens with the items I donate?

When you donate through Changing Hands and Hearts, you decide who benefits from the items you donate by choosing the nonprofit who’s mission you would like to support.

CHAH provides a streamlined process to quickly land donations into the hands of those in need. Your donations will not sit in a warehouse or be sold in a store (we don’t have either of these!). Instead, you will donate the items directly to the nonprofit that has an immediate need for specific items.

Will I receive a donation receipt for tax purposes?

Yes! The nonprofit that receives your donation can provide you with a charitable goods donation receipt.

I HAVE AN item to donate, but when i search no results are found. what should i do next?

Please let us know what item you have to donate. We will alert the nonprofits that there is an item available. If there’s a match we will contact you within 48 hours.

Unfortunately, if there isn’t a match we aren’t able to accept the donation at this time.

I don’t have items to donate, do you accept monetary donations on behalf of participating nonprofits?

We appreciate your generosity! We do not handle monetary donations, but if you feel inclined to give you can consider purchasing items that are needed (although we always encourage donating items you already have!).

I Live outside of the jacksonville, FL area. Can I donate through Changing Hands and Hearts?

At the moment, we work with organizations local to the greater Jacksonville, Florida area (Jacksonville, the Beaches, St. Augustine), but our hopes are to expand into other markets soon. Please reach out to us to let us know where you are! We will keep your area on our radar.
